i'd say the best units are :
infantry: musketeers
cavalery: hunters/carabeners
artilery: howitser
I have started an account for funky and i tested combinations on it.
U have 360 income. That means 7 musketmen or musketeerrs. You kick ass with this combination. Why?
App. Musketeer 0 84/84 10 44% 16
he does moderate damage in the melee part of the battle and small damage in the artilery aprt. But if you have 10 or so you will see how they kill like mad.
Howitzer 110/110 0 45% 105 KICKS ASS!
Mst. Cuirassier 280/280 16 53% 30
GOOD HEALTH , moderate charge attack and moderate artilery attack
My strategy next round will be:
infantery: 15 musketeers + 5 healers+5halberiers
cavalery: 7Cuirassier+5laners
artilery: 5Howitzer
By this i would assure myself i make a hudge damage in the artilery round, the cavalery round will increase the damage and leave many injured enemies in the melee round where they will fall easy.
what do u think?
the main ideea i have is have infantry and cavalery units that are both melee and ranged.

here is how i'd make my army: nr1 5 musketeers and then another 5 nr2 5-7 heakers nr3 7 Cuirassier nr4 5 halberiers nr5 5lancers nr6 5Howitzer the rest of the money i'd make would go in 5 more Howitzers and 5-10 havy melee uinits and 5 or so havt melee calalery units

I'd say the best units are : infantry: Grenadiers/Gardes/Monks/Fighters cavalery: Dragoon/Cossack artilery: Catapults/Archers tried all the different units at least once, and this is what i liked most. mind you that a lot of units have been changed during the last time i tried them so they could be somewhat downsized But a tip for the fast rankers: start with an Halberd army

Yes I agree Harlb is the best for leveling but once you reached BG, ditch them cos they're too expensive and end of their usefulness. I prefer to go for all Infantry cos I've been very successful, winning PvP against mixed army. After talking to a few veterans, this is the preferred Artillery:Calvary:Infantry ratio 0:0:ALL or Arty:0:Healers (with a few Harlb to level) In Europe, an army of all militias with a drummer is invincible for PvP if the opponent has only Master and below soldiers. Elite soldiers may not be his match too. I'm using 51 fighters, 10 Musk and 3 Drummers in this age. PvP is my strong point I don't like to mix Arty, Cav and Infantry together

I prefer high hp units as they dont injure easily and thus reduce the chance of your units dying in any battle. And i'd prefer going mostly on infantry plus 3 arty max and a few cavalry. Dont mix your units too much...it sux i have experience at it. And when ur getting elite ninja warriors, ur god in pvp

20 worriors + 10 grades, 5-6 xossax/elefants + 5 canons?

My final army comprises of : 46 Elite fighters + 4 Master fighters + 3 Veteran fighters 10 Elite Musketeers 3 Elite Drummers 1 Elite Warrior 1 Veteran Ninja This army has been undefeated in PvP! I even defeat a GM! Going for full infantry is still the best for leveling and PvP generally. 0:0:ALL This is good if using all low HP soldiers, eg. Militias, Fighters, Warriors. Remember to add 2-3 drummers. If you're using Samurai or ninjas, please add 15-20 Healers cos you don't want to wait 8 turns to get them healed. This is the best and most devastating Army. Arty:0:Healers (with a few Harlb to level) But it is really hard to train them cos every training just yields 1-3 xp pts.

Before i died i had a decent army... a bit too many healers to be good, but i don't care . a total of 46 Hero's is good enough i guess ;D consisted of archers, fighters, bedouins and monks and one lost free jaguar warrior . currently rebuilding with ninja's to pvp some lower ranked crap

the Legionary 120 21 21 - 80 is one of my favorites, a little more expensive than the ninja but gets that first attack in the ranged round of combat and definatly makes the difference... that being said, since we are starting in indochina next round anychance we can try to make our way to a place i can hire Legionary relatively towards the start.

a total of 46 Hero's is good enough i guess ;D Haveing heros [mathimaticly speaking] is a sign that you didn't have the patience to maximize your armys full potential, if you can hold back promotions enough to hire enough to hit the hard cap at all elites you will have a stronger army[yes holding back promotions this long is hard as hell since most people wont, but if you can when you reach yoru final rank you will have the strongest army possible at your wage]... both hero adn elite have the same 30% stats bonus over price, but elites get the bonus at 20% lower cost... in other words 9 heros will cost you MORE than 10 elites, even tho 10 elites will be slightly stronger

I don't agree with you there . I make my army to be maximised when i reach FM. I don't count on the fact i'll reach GM anyway, altho i was only 1k XP away from it this age grmbl. And with the army i had this age, i already reached wage cap and had several elites waiting to be hero but i just couldn't promote them. So i was already maxed out . If i wanted more units promoted i would have to fire one and that is definately not good for your army So i keep doing what i do, since it works fine
