As many of you know, I am a part of the California National Guard. I was deployed at the very beginning of September to New Orleans. I was based at a junior high school (Sophie B Wright Junior High) for the first two weeks I was there. For those who know the area, the school is in Orleans perish, off of St. Charles and Napoleon. basically, everything north of that area was pretty much flooded. Most of the houses were in pretty good order. Once we hit the ground, things got pretty quiet. We filled out over 11,000 FEMA reports on the houses in that area. We checked for gas leaks, water leaks, down powerlines, flood damage, and anything along those lines. After our two weeks, we moved to the 82nd Airborne's AO (area of operation) in Algiers and took over since they were going home. Shortly after, hurricane Rita brewed up. We rode out what little there was, and continued on. We got set up with relief organizations, law enforcement, and everyone else. At the time we entered algiers, there was roughly 1000 people. As we were moving out, over 30,000 were in the area. On 29 September, we packed up and started to come home.

Whassup, my brothers!
Just thought y'all should know my goings on in the past month.
You're lucky I don't talk about being arrested out there in New Orleans.
