i`m posting from school computers now, our home computer just keeps on rebooting after it loaded windows, fear it`s a virus i`ll try and be here as much as i can gotta go! class

Your computer is right. Windows IS a virus.
Good luck with that.
FYI, McAfee is better than Norton.
Norton is a Piece of Sh:t

I used McAfee about a year and a half ago and it was crap. I switched to nortons proffesional edition and the first time I ran it, I found like 3 or 4 viruses that McAfees didn't find. I've used nortons ever since.

my school gives everyone hooked up to our network mcafee for free and I haven't really had any trouble. Also using ad-aware 6. However, atm, I have these pesky winAd, WinaltAd, WinctlAd processes that are running in the background. When I shut them off, they restart. I haven't had the time to reboot in safe and delete the folders in my program files...is there any way I can fix this w/out safemode?

actually, the hard-drive crashed, it seems... not entirely fixed yet, so i'm typing from the other comp
btw, best virus scanner; panda !

I use Avast a virus scanner Try to use XoftSpy

xoftspy is nothing compared to spybot - s&d. it got spywares that i couldn't remove with xoft or aav.
